OPEN ENROLLMENT FOR THE 2010 MOKELUMNE MOUNTIES WILL BE ON SUNDAY, JANUARY, 24, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. the Clements Buckaroos clubhouse @ the CB Stampede Arena. Enrollment is open to girls and boys ages 8-18. Riding practices will start in February, 2010. Spring-Fall practices: Wednesday and Sunday practices at 6:00 pm at the Clements Stampede Arena on Hwy 88 in Clements. The Mounties generally practice twice a week . The team also has monthly general meetings. Throughout the year, the Mounties entertain audiences by performing drills at rodeos, participate in parades and other community events, as well as competing in drill team competitions throughout California and the Western states.
Members must provide a broke, gentle horse (well mannered, no kicking, biting, etc.) (No stallions are allowed). The rider must be in control of his/her horse at all times. Members must also provide transportation to all practices and Mokelumne Mountie sponsored events, and performances. All horses must be on a regular vaccination program and be free from parasites and on a regular deforming program. Team members must keep their horses in good working condition, by regular exercise at home. The Mounties also raise their own money through fundraisers and donations and use the proceeds to purchase equipment, uniforms and pay expenses for out of town competitions. Members must participate in fund-raising activities and all practices, meetings and functions are mandatory, unless otherwise excused. THE MOUNTIES IS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE FOR YOU AND YOUR HORSE!
